'I wonder' questions from the event on 29/05/2014 at Brock, St. Catherine's.

I wonder…
…where to locate our resistance?
…where to locate our solidarity?
…what are multiple pathways to enact resistance and connect community based work with work in academic spaces?
… how can micro-interactions support resistance and solidarity?
… how can we balance the tensions between protecting individual rights and freedoms with those of the collective community?
… what should we be reading?
… how shall we live knowledge in common?
…how we can better understand and find ways to talk about the ways in which industrial and financial forms of capitalism change our imaginaries of the university?
… if the individualization that happens as a result of technology and the institutionalization of the state (at the interest of capital) frames students as self-interested ‘clients’, how can be mobilize them for resistance focused on the ‘common good’? How does this development affect the ways we have thought about ‘student voice’? What if the majority of students choose to support neoliberalism?
... if deans must comply with decisions made by central administration, are we really 'self-governing'?
... how can we think about love, rights and solidarity within departments that are in emotional turmoil (or denial)?
